Dr. Fred Sims started this practice straight out of dental school in 1981. His goal at that time was to provide the best quality dental care with a comfortable patient-oriented experience, this goal still remains at the core of Sims Dentistry. Dr. Fred is a Louisville native who graduated from Trinity High School in 1974 where he learned many of the characteristics that have made him a well-respected and compassionate health care provider. He went from Trinity to the University of Kentucky where he received is an undergraduate degree. He then attended the University of Louisville Dental School where he graduated in 1981. Over the years, he has done completed over a thousand hours of continuing education credits focusing on Endodontics, TMJ and Occlusion, and Restorative Dentistry. He has been a member of the Louisville Dental Society, Kentucky Dental Association, American Dental Association, and American Endodontic Society. His career has been focused on being able to comprehensive dental care of the highest quality while also giving patients a personalized experience, this focus is at the core of Sims Dentistry and is emphasized in everything we do.
Dr. Fred loves spending time with his four adult sons: Ryan, Christopher, Jacob, and Kevin and their families. He is an avid golfer who has played golf on courses all over the country. More recently he has turned much of his free time to helping underserved populations both locally and abroad. He has now travelled to Guatemala twice to preform dentistry in some of the most remote areas of the country with a group of students and faculty from Bellarmine University. He volunteers with Louisville free dental clinics and also volunteers at St. John’s Center for Homeless Men. Giving back to his community where he has spent all of his life, has become a passion, and is also one of the core values at the heart of Sims Dentistry.
